The CSD 2024 and our journey with MAPAMUNDI
The air was filled with an electrifying energy as I joined the pulsating mass.
A sea of rainbow flags blew in the wind, and the sounds of music and cheers created an unforgettable atmosphere. The CSD 2024 in Berlin was more than just a parade – it was a celebration of diversity, a demonstration of love and a sign of hope.
As part of the MAPAMUNDI community, I felt surrounded by people who share the same values and fight for an inclusive society.
Christopher Street Day is much more than just a big party. It is a historic event that commemorates the Stonewall Riots and focuses on the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.
With every parade a clear message is sent: We are here, we are loud and we will no longer be silent. The CSD is a political statement, a call for equality and a fight against discrimination of all kinds.
MAPAMUNDI stands for diversity and inclusion.
The values of MAPAMUNDI are reflected in the colorful diversity of the parade.
It’s about accepting everyone as they are, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
MAPAMUNDI creates a space where everyone feels welcome and valued.
What I particularly remember are the many small and big moments of the parade: a hearty laugh with a stranger, a profound conversation with a fellow participant, the overwhelming atmosphere as we marched through the streets together. The parade was a platform for creativity and expression, and I was impressed by the diverse costumes, impressive floats and thrilling performances.
The power of community became clear once again on this day. Together we are stronger and can achieve a lot. The parade showed that we are not alone and that there are many people fighting for the same goals. This connection gives me hope and motivates me to continue to work for an inclusive society.
Let us continue to fight together in the future to ensure that diversity is lived and discrimination has no chance.
The CSD is over, but the fight continues. We can all work to make our society more open and tolerant. Be it through conversations with friends and family, through involvement in clubs and organizations or through supporting LGBTQIA+ initiatives.
Every contribution counts and can make a difference.
I am full of energy and am already looking forward to the next CSD.
Until then, I will continue to work for a world in which every person can be who they are.
